§ Mr. Fisherasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what technical study has been made, and with what conclusions, about the safety of civilian airliners landing and taking off at Gibraltar Airport in conformity with the restrictions imposed by the Spanish Government.
§ Mrs. HartAs my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary informed the House on 24th April—[Vol. 745, c. 1156]—there have been discussions with the Spanish Government to try to determine the extent and possible effect of the new prohibited area. The uncertainty about this remains and as I informed the hon. Member on 2nd May [Vol. 746, c. 284] further steps have been taken to enable the matter to be considered by the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organisation on the 10th May. Meanwhile the Board of Trade has been in close consultation with the civil users and these consultations continue.
