asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs when he expects the next general election in Mauritius to take place.

The Premier of Mauritius in the Legislative Assembly on 18th April said that he intended on his return from Canada to consult with the Governor on a date for the dissolution of the Legislative Assembly in the light of the outstanding essential business, so that the election might be held at a convenient time in accordance with the Constitution and the law.
