HC Deb 02 May 1967 vol 746 c56W
Dr. David Owen

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the Government's policy with regard to recommendations made in the Farquharson Lang Report on the administrative practices of hospital boards in Scotland; and what progress has been made in implementing these recommendations, particularly numbers 2, 25, 26, 32 and 43.

Mr. Ross

The Report covered a very wide field, and I am not yet in a position to make any statement on it as a whole. As regards the specific recommendations mentioned, I have drawn the attention of hospital authorities in Scotland to recommendation 2 and have asked them to report to me by 26th July on its implementation; and I am now considering the comments I have received on the others from hospital authorities and other organisations concerned.
