Mr. O'Malley

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable on the financial costs of recent police investigations into allegations against members of the council of the county borough of Rotherham and the number of man-hours of police service taken up by these investigations;

(2) if he will call for a report from the Chief Constable as to whether it will be the police authority of the county borough of Rotherham which will pay the costs of recent police investigations into allegations against members of that local authority;

(3) whether he will call for a report from the Chief Constable as to whether the costs awarded to Councillor James Rogan at the Rotherham Borough quarter sessions on 9th March 1967, at which Councillor Rogan was completely acquitted of charges laid against him, will fall upon the local police authority; and what those costs will be.
