HC Deb 21 March 1967 vol 743 c227W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Minister of Technology what study he has carried out on the feasibility of applying variable geometry techniques to aircraft weighing 25 tons or less.

Mr. Stonehouse

A considerable amount of effort has been devoted in the United Kingdom to the study of the variable geometry concept for combat aircraft and the feasibility of such aircraft at weights below 25 tons has been demonstrated through extensive wind tunnel and other aerodynamic tests.
