§ Mr. van Straubenzeeasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government whether he will give details of the concessions made to the deputation from Bracknell Labour Party, when they were seen recently by his Parliamentary Secretary, in order to protest against the proposed increase of rents in Bracknell New Town.
§ Mr. MellishThe deputation expressed to me the concern of tenants at the rent increases in prospect. It was explained to them that the Development Corporation proposed to introduce a rent rebate scheme to meet any case of hardship; and they were made aware of the generous subsidies to be provided under the Housing Subsidies Bill.
