Mr. Buchanan-Smith

asked the Minister of Health (1) what was the number of pharmacists entering the hospital service in each of the past five years;

(2) what was the number of pharmacists in hospital service in each of the past five years.

Mr. K. Robinson

In England and Wales the numbers (expressed in terms of whole-time equivalents) at 30th September in each year were as follows:

1962 1,456
1963 1,478
1964 1,463
1965 1,405
1966 1,444

I regret that information is not centrally available about the numbers entering the hospital service.
