§ 112. Mr. Grieveasked the Minister of Transport what progress has been made with the proposal for the setting up of a conurbation transport authority in the West Midlands.
§ Mrs. CastleI had very useful discussions in the West Midlands on 19th and 20th January. I am now working out detailed proposals for conurbation transport authorities to be included in the Transport Bill. My intention is to seek powers which would enable me to set up such authorities for the West Midlands and other suitable areas.
