Mr. Fowlerasked the Minister of Transport whether she will seek to make a special grant to those small local authorities whose ratepayers will otherwise bear an excessively heavy burden as a consequence of replacing existing traffic signs by the new system of Worboys signs by 31st December, 1967.
§ Mr. Stephen SwinglerI think that the rate support grant is the most appropriate way of providing Exchequer assistance for expenditure on traffic signs.
