§ 22. Mr. Derek Pageasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what studies he is making of the effect of possible entry of Great Britain into the European Economic Community on the distribution of taxation as between different income groups, consequent on the harmonisation of taxation policies.
§ Mr. CallaghanAs I said in reply to a Question from the hon. Member for Southend, West (Mr. Channon) on 31st January—[Vol. 740, c. 231]—it is too early to say what changes will be necessary in our taxation system if we enter the European Economic Community.
