§ 75. Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what British Colonies in the Indian Ocean have airfields; and in which other Colonies in the area he proposes to develop civil or military airfields.
§ Mrs. HartMauritius is the only British territory in the area which has an airfield.
A civil airfield will be built in Seychelles and I refer the hon. Member to the reply given on 8th November, 1966, by the then Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the Colonies—[Vol. 735, c. 242]. There are no plans for building further civil airfields in the area.
Military airfields are a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Defence.
