§ Mr. Nottasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs whether he will take into account Table 126 of the Hundred and Ninth Report of the Inland Revenue for the year ended 31st March, 1966. which indicates that Cornwall has the lowest wages 216W and incomes in the South-Western Region, when next he appoints members to the South-West Regional Economic Development Council where Cornwall is at present under-represented.
§ Mr. ShoreNo. This information, while of interest, has no relevance to the appointment of members to the South-West Economic Planning Council. As I explained in my answer to the hon. Member's Questions on 9th February—[Vol. 712, c. 1816–17]—members of the Economic Planning Council are not appointed on a representative basis but on account of the contribution they can make as individuals to planning for the region as a whole.
