asked the Minister of Technology if he will give a list of maritime countries which have and have not, respectively, ratified the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution of the Sea by Oil, 1954.

The following countries have ratified the Convention:—

United Kingdom, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, German Federal Republic, Ireland, Italy, Liberia, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Sweden, Poland, United States of America, Kuwait, Iceland, Ghana, Australia, United Arab Republic, Jordan, Dominican Republic, Panama, Philippines, Venezuela, Algeria, Spain, Madagascar, Israel, Switzerland.

The following signatory countries have not yet ratified the Convention:—

Ceylon, Greece, Japan, NewZealand, U.S.S.R., Yugoslavia.
