§ 57. Mr. Gowerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will introduce legislation to amend Section 9 of the Local Government Act 1966 so as to enable 100 per cent. specific grants to be payable to local authorities for the reclamation of derelict land in England, in particular for the removal of slag-heaps, coal-heaps and industrial waste-heaps; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. MacCollNo. I think that the rates of grant, which are 85 per cent. in development areas, 75 per cent. in national parks and areas of outstanding natural beauty, and 50 per cent. elsewhere, are reasonable.
