HC Deb 02 March 1967 vol 742 c135W
53. Mr. J. E. B. Hill

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many students have been awarded Fulbright scholarships to the United States of America and to Great Britain in each year since their inception.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

Up to 30th June, 1965, Fulbright awards were made by the United States Educational Commission in the United Kingdom administering solely American funds. I do not have figures for the number of awards made during this period. In 1965–66 38 Americans held senior awards and 102 held graduate student awards while 209 British senior scholars and graduate students received travel grants. Corresponding figures for the current academic year are 35, 110 and 224.
