§ Mr. Powellasked the Secretary of State for Defence which are the 14 camps that were available last July for troops withdrawn from the Continent; what is their respective capacity; and how far they are now used or earmarked for troops withdrawn to this country from elsewhere than the Continent.
154W
§ Mr. ReynoldsThe 14 camps earmarked last July have now been included in a larger list of camps to meet planned withdrawals as a result of the Defence Review as well as possible withdrawals from B.A.O.R. Each is sufficient for a major unit; but their use depends on the type of unit to be withdrawn, its rôle in the United Kingdom, and the training facilities available locally. I am not prepared to name these camps at the present time.
