asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will give figures bringing up to date Table 1 of the second report of the Royal Commission on Taxation of Profits and Incomes, Command Paper No. 9105 of 1954 which shows the various wage levels at which employees become liable to higher rates of Income Tax.

My right hon. Friend has made it very clear to the Governments concerned through their Ambassadors and the Foreign Ministers he met in New York that we find their attitude towards supplies to the United Kingdom highly objectionable and that it is at least as much in their interests as ours to return to normal right away. In the meantime measures are being taken to prevent our oil supplies being disrupted.
