§ Mr. Symondsasked the First Secretary of State and Secretary of State for Economic Affairs if he will now reply to the request from the Cumberland Development Council for a measure of Exchequer assistance.
§ Mr. ShoreYes, subject to Parliamentary approval, it is the Government's intention to offer the Council the grant of up to £4,000 in 1967–68, and up to £2,000 in 1968–69, on conditions to be agreed. The limited duation of the grant is in harmony with the terms on which grants are now being given to other development councils.
