§ 67. Sir T. Beamishasked the Minister of Transport if she will now refuse to allow the closure of the Hurst Green-Lewes and Eridge-Groombridge-Tun-bridge Wells railway lines, in the light of the report of the transport users' consultative committee for the South-Eastern area that this would cause severe hardship to users of the line and others, and that these hardships could not be alleviated other than by retaining the lines proposed to be closed.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe Transport Users' Consultative Committee's report was received only last week. There are many complex issues involved and my right hon. Friend must study the report and all other relevant factors in detail before reaching a decision on this closure proposal.
