§ Mr. MacArthurasked the Secretary of State for Scotland how many certificated and other teachers are employed in local authority secondary schools; and what estimates he has made of the numbers available in 1969, 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1973.
§ Mr. RossAt December, 1966 there were 18,502 certificated and 1,847 uncertificated teachers in education authority 79W secondary schools. Specific estimates cannot usefully be made for future years, but I would expect the number of certificated teachers in these schools to be not less than 20,000 in 1970–71 and 22,700 in 1973–74.
