§ 60. Mr. Gowerasked the Secretary of State for Wales what advice he has given, and what financial assistance he will give, to enable the Cardiff City Corporation to take steps to make provision for an open space at Rhiwbina, Cardiff, near to the road known as Heol Llanishen Fach, in the light of correspondence from the hon. Member for Barry; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. Ifor DaviesThe reply which the hon. Member will receive shortly will deal fully with the points raised in his letters to my right hon. Friend about the use of this land.
The provision of public open space is a matter in the first place for the Cardiff City Council. It would not, therefore, be right for my right hon. Friend to give any advice to the Council at this stage or to make any comment other than to say that grant may be claimed on expenditure incurred by them in acquiring land for this purpose.
