§ Mr. John MorrisThe existing statutory procedure requires the Railways Board to give written notice to the highway and local authorities concerned before they make any application to my right hon. Friend for an Order authorising a change of protection at a level crossing. Those authorities then have a two-month period in which to make representations, and this gives them opportunity for consultation with such other interested authorities and bodies as they may think appropriate. We see no need for any change in this procedure.
