§ Mr. Patrick Jenkinasked the President of the Board of Trade by what amount the cost of running the Patent Office for a full year is increased by Selective Employment Tax payable in respect of its staff, the rise attributable to Selective Employment Tax in the cost of goods and services, and the effect of Selective Employment Tax on Board of Trade expenditure in connection with the Patent Office, respectively.
§ Mr. DarlingIn respect of staff the increase is estimated at £82,000, no estimate is available to me in respect of goods and services and the best estimate of Board of Trade expenditure is £4,000-£5,000. These figures are for the current financial year.
