§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Prime Minister whether he will take steps by amending the Statute of the Order of the British Empire, to ensure that in future all cases of equally deserving merit can be recommended for the same honour, irrespective of whether they happen to be of commissioned or non-commissioned rank.
