HC Deb 19 June 1967 vol 748 c197W
Mr. Colin Jackson

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will consider a policy of major economic assistance on behalf of Her Majesty's Government designed to help the people of Jordan in their present plight.

Mr. Bottomley

I have been asked to reply.

Her Majesty's Ambassador informed King Hussein on 17th June that in view of the problems arising from the recent hostilities, Her Majesty's Government are willing to provide a grant of £500,000 for expenditure on urgent rehabilitation and reconstruction projects to be agreed between the two Governments.
