§ Mr. Hileyasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he is aware that his practice of refusing or delaying local authority applications for loan sanction to acquire individual small houses in advance of immediate requirements causes hardship, unless authorities finance purchases from revenue, which increases the rate burden and if he will assure local authorities that loan sanction up to a specified figure will be available in cases where they are satisfied that purchases should not be delayed.
§ Mr. MacCollIt is not my right hon. Friend's practice to refuse or delay loan sanctions in cases of genuine personal hardship. I should be glad to look at any case the hon. Member may have in mind.
