§ Mr. DiamondThe number of non-industrial civil servants increased by 24,000 in the year ended 31st March, 1967. This figure excludes the Post Office. Recent figures for local government employment are not available, nor can the numbers be stated of civil servants who were formerly in manufacturing industry.
