HC Deb 12 June 1967 vol 748 c13W
86. Mr. Frank Allaun

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs why the swimming team from the German Democratic Republic were not permitted to come to Great Britain without accepting conditions not required of teams from any other country.

Mr. George Thomson

The East German Swimming Team, which never applied for the necessary travel documents, was apparently unwilling to accept the normal conditions under which sporting teams from East Germany are allowed to enter this or any other North Atlantic Treaty Organisation country.
