HC Deb 12 June 1967 vol 748 c2W
15. Mr. Archer

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what procedure he follows to ensure that overseas broadcasts of the British Broadcasting Corporation for which the costs are borne on the Vote of his Department are directed to areas in which they can be most useful.

Mr. William Rodgers

In accordance with the British Broadcasting Corporation's Licence and Agreement the Overseas Department prescribe the target countries, languages and time for the External Services' broadcasts. This arrangement is designed to take account of changing priorities.
