Mr. Staintonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he is aware that United Kingdom holidaymakers proceeding to Spain and North Africa via Gibraltar can increase their tourist allowance of foreign exchange by the unrestricted encashment of sterling credits in Gibraltar and the uncontrolled export of the resulting currency from that colony; and whether he will take the necessary steps to stop the practice.
