§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Prime Minister whether, in the light of the official and public refusal of General de Gaulle in Rome on Tuesday, 30th May 1967 to support Britain's entry into the European Economic Community, it is still his intention to accept the President's invitation to visit Paris; and what will be the purpose of this visit.
§ The Prime MinisterI do not accept my hon. Friend's interpretation of what President de Gaulle said in Rome last month. I am looking forward to my visit to France on 19th June and to the exchange of views which I shall then be having with President de Gaulle.
