§ 73. Mr. Iremongerasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government which local authorities employ their own valuation officers to assess fair market price 170W for property which they purchase compulsorily; and if he will introduce legislation to oblige them to pay all costs, including solicitors' fees, of appeals to the Lands Tribunal, whatever the outcome of the appeal, and to provide interest-free finance to the owners, and to pay a solatium of 10 per cent. above the award.
§ Mr. MacCollThe information in answer to the first part of the Question is not immediately available but my right hon. Friend the Chancellor of the Exchequer hopes to be able to give it when he replies to the hon. Member's Question on 20th June. As regards the second part of the Question, my right hon. Friend the Minister of Housing and Local Government sees great disadvantages in a proposal which would make the public pay more than the market price.
