§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will seek international agreement to prohibit the supply of any further arms to the Middle East.
§ Mr. George ThomsonHer Majesty's Government deplore the arms race in the Midle East and would welcome international agreement to bring this to an end. They will continue to seek the co-operation in achieving this aim of all the major suppliers of arms to the area, including the Soviet Union. Hitherto this has not been forthcoming.
