§ Mr. Michael Heseltineasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what consideration he has given in paragraph 468 to the recommendation of the report of the South West Economic Planning Council, in relation to the Selective Employment Tax, that there is a case for seeking relief for employers from paying the tax in respect of elderly persons and part-time workers who, in the South-West Region, are an abnormally large proportion of the population and who are an important element in hotel and catering employment; and if he will now take the necessary action to secure such relief.
