§ Mrs. Lena Jegerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs what action he is taking to reduce the number of reservations appended to Her Majesty's Government's ratification of the United Nations Convention on the Political Rights of Women.
§ Mr. George ThomsonThis matter is being kept under review. Some progress has been made, notably on equal pay and the employment of married women in the Civil Service in Hong Kong. The Bahamas and St. Lucia are considering the difficulties on which reservations were made. I hope it may prove possible to withdraw some of these reservations in due course.
