§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Secretar of State for Defence how many sonic booms have been caused during the last two years by aircraft under the control of his Department either directly over the county of Cardigan or over Cardigan Bay and within the hearing of persons living in Cardiganshire.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesThere has been only one occasion in the last two years in which an R.A.F. aircraft caused a sonic boom in this area and this was inadvertent. Supersonic flights by Service aircraft for training purposes are normally carried out over the sea in such a way as to cause no disturbance on land.
