Mr. Alan Lee Williamsasked the Minister of Housing and Local Government what action he plans to take in relation to the assessment by the Land Commission of levy on individual house sites which were purchased for over-occupation between September, 1965, and the first appointed day and for which development value has already been paid; and whether he will make a statement.
§ Mr. WilleyThe Land Commission have asked my right hon. Friend to make an amending regulation which will enable them to afford relief in such cases. While the house remains in the same owner-occupation the Commission would offer relief by postponing the collection of that part of the levy due to the price paid in the interim period. My right276W hon. Friend hopes to lay the regulation during the recess. By virtue of the amending regulation, no interest will be chargeable on the levy while collection is postponed.
