§ 99. Mr. Bakerasked the Postmaster General when he estimates that the whole of the population of Scotland will be able to receive British Broadcasting Corporation's colour television.
§ Mr. Edward ShortB.B.C.2, with its colour content, is planned to attain a coverage of 86 per cent. of the population of Scotland by mid-1974. The 625-line duplicates of B.B.C.1 and of independent television, which will also provide colour, are planned to attain a coverage of 70 per cent. by the end of 1971. Planning for the further extension of all three services is in hand; but it is too soon to say what the timetable will be.
