66. Earl of Dalkeithasked the Secretary of State for Scotland when he intends to introduce legislation to ensure the effective preservation of buildings listed as being of architectural and historic importance in the City of Edinburgh.
§ Mr. RossAs we announced in our recent White Paper on town and country planning, the Government intend to make further improvements in the statutory protection afforded to buildings of special historic or architectural interest. The necessary Scottish legislation will be introduced when the Parliamentary programme permits.
