HC Deb 25 July 1967 vol 751 cc78-9W
53. Mr. Neave

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government (1) what discussions he has held with local authority associations and the Greater London Council on the position of statutory undertakings in regard to planning and compensation; and if he will make a statement;

(2) when he expects to introduce legislation governing the position of statutory undertakings in relation to planning and compensation.

Mr. Willey

With the Parliamentary Secretaries from the Ministries of Transport and Power I met representatives of the local authority associations and the Greater London Council on 11th July. The associations gave their views on the present arrangements affecting statutory undertakers. These are being taken into account in the examination announced in the White Paper on Town and Country Planning.

It is too early to say whether legislation will be necessary or when it might be introduced.
