HC Deb 25 July 1967 vol 751 c94W
Mr. Wall

asked the Secretary of State for Commonwealth Affairs what steps Her Majesty's Government will now take to protect the interests of British subjects who are unjustly expelled from independent African States.

Mr. Bowden

Our High Commissioners watch over and, where appropriate, intercede in the interests of United Kingdom nationals in independent Commonwealth countries. They will continue to do so.

The protection of the interests of British subjects in foreign countries is a matter for the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
