§ Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will give an assurance that no announcements of Government cuts, or intention of cuts, in the social services will be made between 20th July and the end of the forthcoming Summer Recess.
§ Mr. CallaghanAs I foreshadowed in my Budget statement, the Government have been considering the rate of growth of public expenditure. The results of this review will be reflected in the future development of our programmes.
