§ Mr. Whitakerasked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he will announce a decision as to whether Great Britain will participate in the Osaka International Exhibition, in time for the Royal Institute of British Architects to hold a competition for the design of the British pavilion.
§ Mr. William RodgersFollowing correspondence with the Foreign Secretary in May and June of this year, the then President of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Lord Esher, discussed the matter with the Director General of the Central Office of Information, and subsequently informed the Foreign Secretary that a competition could not be arranged in the time available.
The question of our participation in the Osaka exhibition is still under consideration.
