§ 63. Mr. Alisonasked the Secretary of State for Defence to what extent since 20th July, 1966, overseas Government expenditure on defence has been reduced.
§ Mr. HealeyThe object of the measures announced on 20th July, 1966, was to make savings during 1967–68 over the previous year. It is too early to give a figure for savings arising in the current year but I have every expectation of achieving the target announced in Chapter I of the Statement on the Defence Estimates.
