§ Mr. Arnold Shawasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will make a statement on the future of the National Advisory Council on the Training and Supply of Teachers.
§ Mr. CroslandYes. In March I invited the associations concerned to let me have their views on what kind of advisory body would be most appropriate. Not all of them have yet been able to reply. But it is already clear that there is a strong view, which I share, in favour of having a consultative body which would afford an opportunity for the regular exchange 297W of views on these matters. I propose therefore to put detailed proposals to the associations shortly after the holidays and to consult them about the membership.
