§ Mr. Hobdenasked the Attorney-General when the scale rate for dependants of applicants for legal aid was laid down.
§ The Attorney-GeneralThe Legal Aid (Assessment of Resources) Regulations, 1960 (as amended) provide that the allowances from income in respect of dependants are to be at the same rates as for supplementary benefit. The present rates came into force on 28th November, 1966 and, as has already been announced by my right hon. Friend the Minister for Social Security, are to be increased from 30th October next. The allowances from capital were last increased in 1960.
