§ Mr. Spriggsasked the Minister of Transport whether she will seek powers to set up a special inspectorate to inquire into, and to report direct to her, any 187W major railway traffic problems raised by hon. Members, who require answers for constituency and parliamentary business, and to enable such an inspectorate to require persons and organisations to give any necessary information.
§ Mr. John MorrisSuch an arrangement is unnecessary, and would tend to undermine the responsibility of the Railways Board for day-to-day management. The Railways Board is always ready to help hon. Members who approach them on such matters.
