60. Mr. Sandys

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will state the numbers of murders, attempts or threats to murder, wounding, offences involving firearms, roberies in which firearms were carried, and the number of unsolved murders for the years 1964, 1965 and 1966.

Mr. Ross

The numbers of cases of murder made known in Scotland in 1964, 1965 and 1966 were 27, 32 and 30. Attempts to murder numbered 22, 37 and 28 respectively. Two cases of murder reported in 1964, two in 1965 and three in 1966 remain unsolved. The information asked for in the other parts of the Question is not available.
