Mr. Alfred Morris

asked the Postmaster-General (1) what was the increase in the number of telephones in use between the years 1961 and 1964;

(2) what was the increase in the number of telephones in use between the years 1965 and 1967.

In the three years from March, 1961, to March, 1964, the number of telephones in use increased by 1,084,000. In the three years from March, 1964, to March, 1967, a further 2,027,000 had been added.
