Mr. Arthur Lewisasked the Minister of Transport whether she is aware that a manufacturer, whose name and address have been supplied to her, is advertising in the national Press the sale of juvenile saddles to be fixed by a bracket and footrest on pedal cycles; and, as it is illegal for infants or any person to be carried on cycle cross-bars, whether she will take action to prevent the advertisement and sale of these articles.
§ Mr. John MorrisThe restriction imposed on the carriage of more than one person on a pedal bicycle by Section 13 of the Road Traffic Act, 1960 applies where the bicycle is not constructed or adapted for the carriage of more than one person. We have no reason to doubt the legality of the adaptation referred to in the advertisement.
